Launching new products and innovations

With only a few weeks until the IPC APEX 2017 show, Pillarhouse are pleased to confirm that they, once again, will be attending the show. As is custom, with Pillarhouse, they will be demonstrating new equipment and innovations that once again show that they are the leading force in Selective Soldering technology.

New for 2017 is the Jade MK IV. The Jade platform is the world’s most successful hand load Selective Soldering System, and the MK IV adds new process features to this industry leading platform. These new features include: Increased board handing size; Enhanced PillarCOMM interface; Auto-nozzle Tinning System and Bottom-side instant IR heater.

With Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory being industry buzzwords at the moment, Pillarhouse will be demonstrating a running production line with a Smart Factory implementation. This line will consist of Pillarhouse 3-cell Fusion and Synchrodex Selective Soldering Systems, along with Simplimatic Automation’s Board Load and Unloaders. This line will be running an implementation of Smart Factory 1.0 (Industry 4.0), with a real-time feedback of production line status. Pillarhouse are pleased to be working with the IPC helping create the draft IPC standard 2-17 (Data Connected Factory). This standard will produce a common framework for a Smart Factory implementation in the electronics assembly industry.

Pillarhouse will also be demonstrating their entry-level, desktop selective soldering system the Pilot. The Pilot is perfect for small to medium batch hand-load operations wanting a high specification value option. This system is also ideal for SME producers where floor space is at a premium and flexibility and energy saving are key considerations. The Pilot is designed to process boards up to 330mm x 250mm.

Seeing great prospects for 2017

2016 has once again proved that Pillarhouse continues to lead the way in the Selective Soldering sector of the electronics assembly market. Year-end figures show yet another year-on-year increase in shipped equipment with 2016 being a record year. A 10% increase on 2015.

When asked for comments on Pillarhouse International’s performance Nigel Monk, Managing Director, commented “Since developing the first Selective Soldering System in 1993, our commitment to the development of both process and machine features has been key to the consistent growth of the company. Having a worldwide presence, both in Sales and Service, in over 50 countries makes Pillarhouse the leading force in the Selective Soldering market.”

Orders received at the end of 2016 and already in 2017 shows no slowdown in the market. Sales Director, David Johnson, said “2016 has demonstrated a massive upturn in sales within the Asia Pacific region. Coupled with our policy of targeting some of the key European markets, by appointing new Distributors, and a resurgence from our US and Mexico operations in recent months, Pillarhouse has enjoyed yet another year of record sales. Indications are that this trend will continue into the first quarter of 2017 based upon our current sales forecast and our clearly defined global expansion policy.”

Pillarhouse USA shows great prospects for 2017

With the end of 2016 fast approaching, Pillarhouse USA Inc. are pleased to report that, after what has been a difficult trading year for many US companies, they are bucking the trend and their Q4 sales are proving exceptionally strong.

When asked for comments on the Pillarhouse USA’s recent performance, Jonathan Wol, President, commented “Following average Q2 sales figures, we saw a large increase in overall sales activity and purchase orders placed in Q3. The fourth quarter has exceeded our expectations and indicators show we should expect more of the same as we approach 2017. Furthermore, our release of exciting new equipment at IPC APEX 2017 in February should add an additional boost to our sales. Our expectations are high for a possible record
breaking 2017”.

Pillarhouse China Expands its Presence

With the end of 2016 fast approaching Pillarhouse are very pleased to report that their sales in the Far East market are at an all-time high. Across the region sales are up by 35% compared to 2015. With the Chinese market increasing by 30%; Japan by 42%; Korea by 20%; Singapore by 32% and Taiwan by 60%.

“The Far East is proving to be a very good market for the Pillarhouse organisation.” said Nigel Monk, Managing Director of Pillarhouse International. He went on to say “That whilst Pillarhouse has always been strong in the region the increase in sales means that the Far East now generates 40% of our worldwide sales.”

Pillarhouse has had a manufacturing presence in China for a number of years and over the last few years has concentrated on sales in the Suzhou region. Since 2014 sales generated by Pillarhouse Soldering Systems (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. have increased by in excess of 80%. With such exception sales figures Pillarhouse Soldering Systems (Suzhou) has opened an additional Sales/Service centre to provide local support in the Guangdong Province.

Darren Harvey, General Manager of Pillarhouse Soldering Systems (Suzhou) explained “The appointment of Penny Zhang, as the Area Sales Manager for Guangdong, will allow us to offer a full Pre-sales, Sales and After Sales service for the Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen areas. This will include demonstration Selective Soldering Systems, solder trials and spares holdings.”

Pillarhouse International is pleased to announce that the following features are now included, as standard, with their range of selective soldering systems. These additional features have not increased the retail prices of these machines. (more…)
